RETURNING TO SOCCER
(FT. LYLA GOLDMAN)

This short film tells the story of UNC student Lyla Goldman returning to soccer through intramural futsal after time away from the game. Through interviews, narration, and b-roll, I focused on capturing not just the process of coming back, but also the person behind it, highlighting themes of resilience, identity, and starting over. This project allowed me to develop my storytelling and editing skills while learning how to structure a narrative that feels both personal and relatable.

INSIDE PSYCHOLOGY AND COMMUNITY @ CAROLINA
(FT. DAISEY MARCIANO)

This story explores how Psychology and Community @ Carolina, founded by Daisey Marciano, builds community at UNC by creating spaces for students to connect beyond the classroom. By immersing myself in the club while filming, I was able to experience the community firsthand and highlight the people behind it and the impact it has on student belonging and engagement. This project allowed me to strengthen my storytelling and editing skills while learning how to capture both individual experiences and a larger sense of community.

MEJO 153 SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE
FINAL PROJECT

@mlbmoneytalk is a social media page focused on breaking down the business side of Major League Baseball in a way that is accessible and engaging for fans. Through a mix of infographic, summary, analysis, and synthesis posts, I explored topics such as league revenue, player contracts, team spending, and emerging changes within the sport. Using credible industry sources, I translated complex financial and operational concepts into clear, digestible content. This project allowed me to strengthen my ability to communicate sports business insights while learning how to create content that resonates with a broader audience.

CAROLINA SPORTS CONSULTING GROUP
NWSL CASE STUDY

This project was a consulting case study completed through the Carolina Sports Consulting Group’s Consultant Development Program, analyzing the feasibility of shifting the National Women’s Soccer League to a fall-to-spring calendar. Working in a group of three, I evaluated key factors including weather constraints, scheduling logistics, market viability, and competition with the NFL. Our team developed strategic recommendations, including an unbalanced schedule that maximizes warm-weather markets during winter months. This experience strengthened my ability to think critically about league operations and apply data-driven insights to real-world challenges in professional sports.

About my work

My work is centered around three core values: sports, media, and community. These projects were not only incredibly rewarding to create, but also shaped how I think, learn, and grow within the industry.
